Option 2 Pool Opening $430.00

What we do:

• complete Option 1
• pump water off pool cover
• remove leaves and debris from pool cover, put in trash bags and leave at pool side
• remove and roll up pool cover, leave at pool side

What we don't do:

• vacuum the pool
• add any chemicals beyond the opening chemicals included with this option

Please Note: The Option 2 Pool Opening is a multi-day process (2 or 3 days). Please plan your appointment accordingly.

Option 3 Loop Loc Pool Opening $330.00

What we do:

• complete Option 1
• removal of Loop Loc pool cover

What we don't do:

• vacuum the pool
• add any chemicals beyond the opening chemicals included with this option
• remove and wash the winter cover on the pool

*A non-copper based Liquid Algaecide should be added to the pool water by April 15. If the pool is not opened by May 1 you should add more Liquid Algaecide each week until the pool is opened.

Important Note

Once your pool is opened, please bring a water sample down to our Route 9 Showroom for a complete water analysis. Pool water chemistry is the most misunderstood, yet vital component to overall pool care. Not only does proper water chemistry protect the swimmers using the pool, but it also protects the swimming pool itself. Gas heaters, electrical heat pumps, filters, and even the vinyl liner can all suffer severe damage from unbalanced pool water. If the Total Alkalinity and/or Total Hardness levels are too low, the pool water can become extremely corrosive and damage any metal pool components such as the pool heater, heat pump, pool pump, and can also damage your vinyl liner. Damage incurred as a result of unbalanced water chemistry is not covered by your warranties.

Additional Closing Services

Option Laundry $180.00

After opening the pool we will take your winter cover to our warehouse and wash, clean, fold, and store it. The pool cover will be delivered in the Fall if McCarthy Pools closes your pool. If not, please contact the Service Department to arrange pickup.

Option Spa Opening $60.00

Option Spa Opening includes: we will open your spa and check its operation. This only applies to spas that are connected to your pool. Price applies only when ordered with an additional pool opening option.

If your pool was not installed by McCarthy Pools please list the type and brand of filter, pump, heater, and/or heat pump you have. Also, please list any additional information you would like us to have (pool gate lock combinations, directions to your home, etc...)

Important Notes

• Please check your pool water level and notify us asap if the water level is below normal operating condition.
• Winter covers and water tubes will be left at pool side loosely rolled up or folded. The cover should be washed, dried, and folded before storage. The cover should be stored away from rodents and insects. Your cover warranty does not include damage incurred from improper storage.
• Loop Loc Pool Cover owners should add a non-copper based liquid algaecide to the pool water by April 15. If the pool is not opened by May 1, this process should be repeated every week.
• McCarthy Pools does not guarantee that the Opening Chemicals included in the Pool Opening Options will clear your pool water. If the pool water does not clear within 48 hours after the initial chemical dose, more chemicals should be obtained and added to the pool water. Feel free to stop by our Showroom for advice and quality pool water chemicals.
• The Pool Opening Service does not include vacuuming the pool
• Any Service appointment cancellations require 24 hours advance notice.
• General Service: Minimum service charge for the first hour or any part thereof including travel time: $104.00. Service requiring two men will be charged at the general rate with an additional charge of $72.00 per hour for the second service technician

Be sure that:

• the pool gate is unlocked and we have access to the pool. If we do not have access to your pool and have to return at a later date to open your pool, you will be charged for both service visits.
• power to the pump is turned on and the timer, if any, is set to be on at the time of your Pool Opening Appointment.
• water to an outside sill cock is on and a hose that will reach the pool is connected.
• the water level of the pool is at the proper operating height and the filter is able to run at a full prime.
• the ladder(s), handrail(s), skimmer basket(s), pump basket, filter element, and automatic chlorinator are at pool side and available prior to your Pool Opening Appointment. If a previously mentioned item is not at pool side at the time of your Pool Opening Appointment and another service visit is required to complete the Pool Opening Appointment, you will be invoiced for the Pool Opening Option you requested and for the 2nd service appointment required to complete the pool opening.

If the above conditions are not met and a return visit is necessary, you will need to reschedule your Pool Opening Appointment and you will be charged the appropriate service fee.
